This week started off with a bang, and it feels like the vibe for the week is going to be fun. The week is still young, though, and my vibes have been known to pivot faster than a plot twist.
Currently Reading:
- The Naysayers by Liz Fenton & Lisa Steinke
- I am about 20 percent in, and it is cracking me up. Parallel worlds, one much more optimistic and one spectacularly cynical. It is giving angel and devil energy except instead of morality, we have hope and skepticism; positivity and negativity. Real life disasters get reframed as Naysayer sabotage, and to them it is a job well done. A cheerful “You’re welcome, Real World.” It is fantastic so far, and I foresee a strong four star or maybe even five star finish.
- On Deck: A Traitorous Heart by Erin Cotter.
- 1570s France. A lady-in-waiting. Her best friend and former lover being a French princess. An elite network of secret spies. I cannot read this fast enough. I am genuinely excited to dive in.
Both of these are Kindle Paperwhite reads. I love this little device far more than I ever planned to. My eyes tolerate it better than my phone, and even better than physical copies, although I still adore physical books for aesthetics and unplugged reading sessions.
I also grabbed a galley for The Shippers by Katherine Center, coming out May 19, 2026. It will be my first book by her even though I have heard nothing but good things.
