It’s the weekend, Nerds! Totally doing a happy dance over here.
It’s also time for Saturday Nerd First Line, which is always great. This Saturday I’m reading A Bad, Bad Place by Frances Crawford. A young girl named Janey happens across a dead body in 1969 Scotland. What follows are the ripple effects someone her age could experience from that kind of traumatic event. I’ve not finished it yet, though, so that and the above first line is all the taste I’m going to share with you right now. You can read the first sentence above or below.
Sid Vicious is under the table waiting to see if there’s any dropped food.
In real-time video footage, you’d see my brows come together as I read “Sid Vicious.” Then they’d smooth as I read the rest and understood that Sid Vicious is, in fact, a dog. Isn’t that name fantastic? You can also already tell that Sid Vicious is perceptive, so it’s actually a nice bit of foretelling there.
Can’t wait to see what the rest of the story brings!
Let’s Discuss
What’s the first line of the book you’re reading today?
