What This Year Gave Me

Hello, Nerds!

While we may not all celebrate the same, I wish you all Happy Holidays.

2025 was an incredibly eventful year for my family. My eldest, Annie, turned 21 in March. It seems like only yesterday we were at a photography studio having photos taken of my chubby-cheeked baby with a Santa backdrop. My youngest, Lina, turned 9 in September, and it was only five minutes ago that we were in NICU with a 28-weeker whose cry sounded like a tiny mewling kitten’s. The biggest event of 2025, however, also took place in September, when my partner, Jesse, and I finally married at our local library. It was a perfect day. My last major event of the year occurred about a week later, when I opened up WordPress and created my blog to share all the book nerdiness in my soul.

I’m grateful for it all. Peel back the everyday mundanities to find each beautiful moment within, and cherish them, for they pass in the blink of an eye.

May your holidays be full of warmth and laughter, and know I send my best wishes your way.
