September 2026 Reading Recap

September felt like a slower reading month, and I honestly thought I had been slacking a little. Then I counted everything up and realized I finished eight books, which is exactly the same number I read in August. Apparently, my feelings cannot be trusted when it comes to reading statistics.

One additional book didn’t meet my three-Nerd threshold, so in keeping with my review policy, I haven’t included it below.

Here’s what I read:

People of Means by Nancy Johnson
🤓🤓🤓🤓

Last Summer at Maine Chance by Jessica Everett
🤓🤓🤓

The Case of Bingley’s Missing Aphrodite by Emma Aubrey
🤓🤓🤓🤓

Who Needs Mistletoe? by Sarah Estep
🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓

There’s No Turning Back by Alba de Céspedes
🤓🤓🤓

The Shippers by Katherine Center
🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓

My two standout reads were easily The Shippers and Who Needs Mistletoe?

I loved, loved, loved The Shippers. It gave me the same comforting, funny, slightly chaotic feeling I get from watching Bridget Jones’s Diary, which is one of my comfort movies.

Who Needs Mistletoe? surprised me in a completely different way. I used to think holiday romances would be cheesy, but this was my first one, and it completely opened my mind to the genre. Apparently, I may be a holiday romance reader after all.

Overall, September gave me two five-Nerd reads, two four-Nerd reads, and three three-Nerd reads worth sharing. I’d call that a pretty good reading month.

Let’s Discuss

What was the best book you read in September?
