I spotted this in Shelf Awareness and immediately wanted to share it, because it sounds like such a fantastic opportunity for booksellers with a passion for international literature.

Books Across Borders has extended the application deadline for its Fall 2026–Spring 2027 fellowship program to July 1. The program connects U.S. booksellers with the international book community through sponsored trips to some of the world’s premier book fairs, including the Frankfurt Book Fair, FIL Guadalajara, the London Book Fair, the RISE Bookselling Conference in Galway, and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
Not only do fellows get the chance to attend these events, but they also have the opportunity to report on them in Shelf Awareness and participate on a panel related to their professional interests. Honestly, this sounds like an incredible opportunity for booksellers who are passionate about diverse and international literature and want to deepen their connection to the wider literary world.
I just love seeing programs like this that invest in booksellers and help bring even more global stories, perspectives, and conversations into the book community.
If you’re a bookseller with a love for international literature, you can read more about the fellowship and apply here.
