Happy Saturday, my fellow book nerds, and welcome to another edition of Saturday Nerd First Lines. Today I am reading A Traitorous Heart by Erin Cotter. I’ve only just begun, but I am already loving the mystery and intrigue vibes. It opens with a first line that immediately tells you our main character is observant and sharp.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a gentleman creeping about a ball uninvited is up to no good.
We get intrigue right from sentence one. I can already tell this is the kind of book that will have me biting my nails by the 80 percent mark, wondering who is scheming against whom. I can’t wait.
